Camille Dalmais 1978出生於法國巴黎，十幾歲開始學芭蕾，並開始對bossa nova與美國70年代SOUL(靈魂樂)和60-70年代的FOLK(民謠)產生興趣。他就讀Lycée Henri-IV 取得藝術學位。16歲時Camille參加一場婚宴，發表她生平第一首作品 "Un Homme Déserté" 。2000年巴黎一個爵士俱樂部的現場, Camille發表她畢生第一支影片Les Morsures de l'Aube，當然背景音樂也是使用她的作品 "La Vie la Nuit" 。
高校畢業後進入 "Sciences Po" (巴黎政治學院)就讀。2002年, Camille 與Virgin Records簽約。 2004年, 她開始與Marc Collin及他的樂團Nouvelle Vague合作。
2005年發表專輯Le Fil, 立刻得到金唱片的殊榮，並拿下兩座法國葛萊美獎。其中一首曲"Pâle Septembre" 靈感應該來自911事件。歌詞反覆的問:
"Mais qui est cet homme qui tombe de la tour? (But who is this man falling from the tower?)
Mais qui est cet homme qui tombe des cieux? (But who is this man falling from the sky?)
Mais qui est cet homme qui tombe amoureux?( But who is this man falling in love?)
2007年她為 Pixar的電影Ratatouille《料理鼠王》演唱片尾曲"Le Festin"。

Camille的有些MV作品表現挑戰你的視覺與聽覺，例如利用第二人拍打她的後背使她的歌聲產生間歇效果，有時她會用拍手或口技的方式產音樂的生節奏性，以及人體各種發聲的可能性，總之她的音樂作品中總是讓人驚艷。欣賞她的表演,或許說是一場藝術的饗宴更為貼切。
